Overview

This remarkable experience brings together some of the outstanding produce and expertise the Charente area has to offer – its wine and cognac making history and processes along with the local knowledge of all things wine and cognac related. Combined this tour has vineyard tours, tastings, talks and tons of fun.

Tickets:

Our first retreat is from Monday 26th May to Friday 30th May 2025. As this retreat has a minimum number of participants required to run, please register your interest by emailing us at info@charentetours.com and we will be in touch.

Cost:

The tour is £999 per person.

Location:

The Logis de Bacchus, is a neo-classical, renaissance style mansion built in 1851 from the stones of a 14th century Château. Originally a Cognac and Cigar producing estate, it has been lovingly renovated to become a multipurpose retreat space, hosting yoga, art, and cycling workshops, as well as simply being the perfect base from which to explore the history, beauty and grandeur of the Cognac region.

Located in the Cognac countryside, surrounded by vineyards and rustic French villages, the estate provides an idyllic space with generous enclosed private grounds, gardens and outbuildings, available for multiple creative uses.

Just one hour from Bordeaux by train, two hours from Paris by train, or 90 minutes from La Rochelle or Limoges airports, the region boasts a microclimate with the most sunshine of the Atlantic coastal region.

Meals:

Freshly prepared meals are made at the Logis daily, using the best local produce Charente has to offer. Three meals will be provided daily (except on excursion days when lunch is at an excursion location) as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day and night.

In keeping with the local style, lunch is typically the largest meal of the day with the evening meal of aperos being a light supper.

If you have any dietary requirements please let us know at info@charentetours.com and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Accommodation:

For smaller groups (6-8 people) you will be able to stay within the Logis itself. The Logis has five bedrooms, each boasting views over the French countryside, and of the stunning sunrises or sunsets. Two are ensuite, and three have shared facilities. They are all located on the first floor of the Logis.

Larger groups will stay within the village at our partner accommodation locations, recently renovated luxury gîtes within a few minutes walk of the Logis.

You will need to arrange your own flights to France from the UK. We recommend flying Ryanair from London Stansted to Limoges and we will provide transfers to and from Limoges airport and the Logis.
